Mariner Maps is a community map of boating places and conditions. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
- Account details. If you create an account, we store your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We do not receive your Google password.
- Things you submit. Pins, reports, notes, and photos you add to the map, along with the location you choose for them.
- Basic technical data. Our hosting providers keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to run and secure the service.
You can browse the map without an account. We do not use advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your session active.
- To show your submissions on the map after review, and to let moderators review them.
- To keep the service working, secure, and free of abuse.
We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
Who processes it
Mariner Maps runs on Supabase (accounts and database) and Cloudflare (hosting). Map tiles come from OpenFreeMap and OpenSeaMap. Google provides sign-in if you choose it. These providers handle data only to deliver their services.
Your choices
You can ask us to delete your account and the information tied to it at any time. Public map data you submitted may stay on the map without your name attached.
Children
Mariner Maps is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
